Dragon Cambridge International was founded in 2005 to provide two way services and exchanges between organisations in China and the West, principally the UK. The services offered were broadly based, and drew upon network connections in China and the UK, mostly in Education / Academia and in Business and Technology.
Seminars and publications were produced by Dragon Cambridge International, and Alan Barrell, due to his extensive work in and with China became a reference point for many organisations and people seeking advice. However, the activity was not sufficient, in business terms to warrant the cost of a separate Limited Company, and the decision was made in 2008 to close Dragon as an operating entity - but continue to offer all the services it provided - through Alan Barrell and his Associates. Furthermore, Alan has become Managing Director (UK) of a Beijing based company - Chinatime Inc. Details can be found on the website - www.chinatimeinc.com. This means that by contacting Alan and using his personal web connections - access to resources in China can be made accessible to UK organisations, and enquiries from China about UK activities can be handled by Alan and his European network colleagues.
Recent activities regarding China initiated by Alan, included a seminar "China and The World", held at the Library House Ltd., a Cambridge company in which Alan is an investor and a founder shareholder. Alan and a UK based Chinese colleague, De Wei Wang, spoke at this event to a significant number of senior business people and academics, and the two presentations are accessible here for downloading elsewhere on this site. A significant volume of other documents and articles on China are available for downloading - and the latest list and access points are given here.
The principles of Chinatime Inc, Helen Zhang and Geoff Baker, have published a book "Think Like Chinese" This is available by ordering through the Chinatime website. Think Like Chinese - Introduction
News on China and further publications will be included in this section of the Alan Barrell website and comments or proposals for inclusion will always be welcome.
